I think that joining scouts was the best decision i ever took throughout my whole life. Scouts teaches you many things from simple knots and fire building to leading people and supporting a team. The Sliema Scout Group is the oldest surviving scout group outside the U.K. Our group has survived throughout the years and has always made a great impression to outsiders. As a Scout Group, we do stuff like : -Fire Building -Rope Work -First Aid -Fire Safety -Camping -Abseiling -Canoeing -Raft Races -Downhill Go Kart Races -Cooking -Expeditions -Diving -Campfires -Horse Riding -Survival Expeditions -...and much, much more! |
OK, lets get straight down to business
On the 25th of November 2001, we had a Treasure hunt open to anyone. We met at Luxol grounds at 2pm Beginning December there was an Expedition, Operation Leapfrog III - the next encounter, which was an expedition over three days where the scouts traveled to different locations of our island for a variety of activites. December is also the time where we organise a fantastic Xmas Party with music, games and xeba food!!! January hosted the famous Father and Son Camp, which was a blast for the daddies and the boys February hosted our typical Canoe Races in our only lake in Malta, Chadwick Lakes. Next year we are thinking of holding them at Burmarrad valley ...keep in touch, more updates coming soon
Before we move on, Throughout the year, we will be working on fund raising for the International Jamboree, which is going to be held in Thailand, December 2002. Help us if you can. Contact me for more information! |
